Concussion/Injury Protocol

Concussion protocol
If there is reason to believe any student-athlete may have a concussion, they will be removed from play. Our athletic trainer will make the decision as to whether concussion like symptoms are present or not. If a student is determined to have concussion like symptoms, that student must see a physician. Physcian must fill out the MHSAA post-concussion return to play form. When a physician gives that student a return to play note, that student must then go through a five step return to play protocol with our certified athletic trainer. The certified athletic trainer of LPHS has the final say on if and when a student may return to play.

Injury protocol
All student athletes of LPHS must see our certified athletic trainer when an injury occurs. If the student-athlete sees a physician for an injury, that student-athlete must have a return to play note from that physician's office before they will be allowed to return to play. Once the note is received, the certified athletic trainer will then make the decision if that student is ready to return to play. The certified athletic trainer will make the final decision on return to play for LPHS student-athletes.
